Priority Freight was contacted during a weekend, as the parts were needed within just 48 hours and an untimely customs official strike was taking place in Brazil at the time of the request.
In this time-critical situation Priority Freight set to work and secured a workable solution within two hours of initial contact. By working with a global network of trusted partners, our team was able to provide the fastest, most cost-effective and reliable option to solve the manufacturer’s dilemma.
As there were no direct flights from Brazil to Warsaw, the team needed to reroute the consignment. If they had routed to Warsaw, additional flight stopovers would have been required, resulting in a longer transit time.
With 24/7 coverage at Frankfurt, FRA was the optimal choice of airport for goods to be collected from the airline. Extending the route a further 250km and communicating with a partner who had extensive knowledge of the Brazilian strike allowed us to avoid the resulting queues.
By negotiating pre-clearance, the shipment was able to depart on the first available flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Frankfurt, Germany, on time. A second customs clearance negotiation was made during the night to ensure no time was wasted.
The Priority Freight team knew that there were only two Polish customs offices open 24/7. As a result, the route was again extended, by an additional 500km, to make a custom clearance at 04:00AM on Sunday.
By arranging these pre-clearances and rerouting the consignment, Priority Freight subsequently saved the customer 24 hours in transport time, allowing them to continue production.
The team’s experience and knowledge meant a bespoke solution could be created saving time and minimising the impact to the client. As a result, halts to the production line were completely avoided.
