A UK automotive manufacturer experienced a moulding machine breakdown. To maintain production volume and avoid downtime in productivity with one of their leading customers, an alternative machine and manufacturing line was introduced in another of their facilities located several miles away from their main plant. The components and tooling were then required to be continuously transported between the two sites for several days.

Calling upon Priority Freight for their contingency logistics expertise, the manufacturer required immediate support. Within 25 minutes of the request, the team had begun positioning multiple vehicles. In excess of 35 sprinter vans and 7.5t vehicles were utilised around the clock, loading every 15-30 minutes during a 48-hour period.

Ultimately, over 170 time-critical transports were monitored and managed by Priority Freight’s 24/7 operations team. With the highest possible focus on customer care, Priority Freight and their client were able to identify and address additional scheduling concerns and unfolding risks to avoid further potential downtime in productivity.

The experience and capabilities of Priority Freight ensured speed and flexibility to the supply chain, preventing catastrophic service failure and substantial financial penalties for the client.

Once normal service had resumed, the Priority Freight team were praised and acknowledged for their services, even though, for them, it was just another day in the office.
