Priority Freight goes above and beyond for UK charity

Priority Freight transports aircraft to Perth free of charge for a charity that delivers aid around the world.

Priority Freight assisted Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) in transporting fragile cargo from the Midlands to Perth, Scotland, to be restored, so that the charity can continue to send aid to countries that need it around the world.

The cargo was a dissembled light aircraft, which will be restored by aircraft engineering students from the University of the Highlands and Islands.

MAF operates 135 light aircraft in 26 of the most disadvantaged countries in the developing world. In 2016 they flew more than 43,000 hours and 65,000 flights to carry 178,000 passengers and 6-million kilograms of aid and materials to those in need.

Appreciating the impact of what the charity do annually and the importance of this consignment, Priority Freight completed the job free of charge as a charitable donation. This saved the charity over £1,500, to which MAF expressed their gratitude and praise for a job well done.

The fact that they also did this free of charge is incredible, and made the whole thing possible.”

Priority Freight, a leading time-critical logistics specialist, worked against the clock to deliver the aircraft in just 14 hours with the utmost care not to damage the delicate consignment. The students from the University of the Highlands and Islands were directly involved in the unloading of the cargo. To gain engineering experience, they will reassemble and prepare the aircraft to be used in static displays to raise the profile of what MAF does.
