When Bratislava airport in Slovakia found themselves in urgent need of two replacement staircases, they employed Priority Freight to take care of the challenging consignment.
The Priority Freight team relish such extraordinary challenges and immediately set to work to deliver the fastest, most cost-effective and reliable solution, ensuring that the airport could continue operating to schedule.
Urgent shipping was to take place from Spain to Slovakia and the team secured a specialist platform trailer for the oversized cargo to ensure smooth and safe transport to the airport. Loading of the stairs took place on Tuesday with final delivery and inspection by Saturday of the same week.
A crane was then secured by a local supplier to finalise lifting the steps onto the runway area – ready for final inspection and passengers to take their next holiday!
The Priority Freight team used the fastest solution with professional support and use of local businesses where available.
Stefan Kordos, General Manager at the Bratislava Priority Freight office said, “The team like a challenge and the end result is always more rewarding when consignments are not straight forward.
“With the size of the stairs, we needed to ensure everything was exact and as time-efficient as possible. We are pleased to say the consignment went smoothly and passengers were able to board their flight on time.”
