FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here is a list of the most frequently asked questions. Should you not find the answer you are looking for, please contact us at smt@priorityfreight.com and we will happily assist you.

What do I need to do if what is loaded doesn’t match the transport order?

Contact the transport desk that provided the order for further advice/authorisation to proceed. Drivers should never leave without authorisation.

Why is it important that the driver checks the part numbers if provided?

Priority Freight is assigned to collect certain parts to keep the customers’ production lines moving; if we collect the wrong one then there is a potential for line stops.

If the driver has loaded and it matches the transport order, what else do we need to do?

If the driver has confirmed that the parts loaded and the transport order matches, update your transport portal, give other information such as:

  • Routing
  • Planned time to start break and where (until)
  • Any other related information

Why is it important that we are contactable 24/7?

Priority Freight prides itself on always being available to the customer – their needs change at a moment’s notice and we may need to provide updates on shipments at any time of the day or night. Also, an air charter may be required to meet time-critical deadlines to keep supply chains moving and we may need to reroute vehicles to accommodate this.

Why do I need to give routing/driver information when quoting?

We will always look for the fastest and most cost-effective option at that time and there may be traffic or adverse weather conditions affecting a particular route. Whether it’s single/double-manned/driver swap, going via Trelleborg or Rodby, it all makes a difference when planned.

Why do I need to provide ETAs?

The transport orders may have a timed slot or window, however, if you are able to provide accurate ETAs, we maybe able to request the warehouse unloads early rather than the driver waiting if they arrive early.

What do I do if my vehicle won’t make the original collection time/window?

Immediately inform the desk that booked you, via telephone and follow up with email. Please advise the issue and current ETA.

How will I be notified about jobs I have won?

On the ‘Market Square’ tab, the status will change from ‘Submitted’ to ‘Selected’. Priority Freight will build your transport order and this will be emailed via the system for you to accept. Once accepted, you will need to upload the plate number to the system.

Will I still receive requests for quotes via email?

Sometimes there will be requests for quotes by email – this would be for special case movement where a lot of detail is required.
