A distressed tier supplier
A tier one supplier to a major OEM was experiencing a quality control issue where scheduled transport solutions were too slow to replenish stock already held. Disruption to the final trim assembly line was a very apparent risk.
The tier one supplier called Priority Freight and the expert team stepped in, planning for the provision of dedicated bullet vans on the hour, every hour for the first 24 hours.
Following the first 24 hours, a staged approach was implemented to assist the supplier in keeping costs as low as possible. Priority Freight went about providing a two-hour bullet vehicle provision. On days three and four the bullet vans were replaced with a double-manned trailer departure.
By the fifth day, Priority Freight’s team had worked closely with the tier one supplier to resource and action a critical logistics response, which ensured that the OEM was protected against loss in downtime and cost with 48 hours of stock, which enabled the tier one supplier to return to standard line haul dispatch.
The Priority Freight team is dedicated to beating deadlines while also ensuring that the value and costs to the customer are kept as low as possible under the potentially urgent circumstances. It is this integrity and dedication to customers that has made the company the provider of choice for expedited logistics.
