Major disruptions in Calais
We have been advised that, on Monday (5th September), French transport operators are expected to protest the deteriorating conditions for drivers and vehicles around the ports in Calais. They will be joined by agriculture workers, port workers, politicians and the people of Calais.
There will be simultaneous ‘go slow’ convoys approaching from Calais, Dunkirk and Boulogne, where they will meet and block the highway.
- Dunkirk – The convoy will meet in the town of Loon Plage around 0630 before taking to the A16 in direction of Calais
- Boulogne – The convoy will meet in the town of Outreau around 0630 before taking to the A16 in direction of Calais
It is expected that the convoys will join the A16 highway around 0730 and they expect to block all lanes of the road.
The end of the demonstration is planned for 1800, although it is unclear if it will continue.
Please be prepared for major disruption during this period.
