Internationally recognised for quality and environmental management systems
Following successful audits by the LRQA (Lloyds Register) in June and August, we are excited to announce that the Priority Freight head office has been certified to the latest quality (ISO 9001:2015) and environmental (ISO 14001:2015) management standards.
ISO is the International Organisation for Standards. In line with our strategic aims, we chose LRQA as our assessors since they are accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), which is the only body recognised by national government to assess organisations against internationally agreed standards.
- ISO 9001:2015 is focused on the quality of our management processes and our commitment to customer service
- ISO 14001:2015 recognises our achievements in developing environmental management systems and processes to lessen the environmental impact of our operations
Whilst we have held these ISO accreditations for the last 20 years, the updated awards are internationally recognised and acknowledged, holding companies to the highest possible standards.
Our advancement demonstrates how we continually work on improvements in our processes to assure quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Receiving these accreditations is just another way for us to display our continued commitment to providing the best global service we can, going above and beyond client expectations and reflecting our mission, vision and values which can be seen across our whole network of European control centres.
Looking after the environment
We are fully aware of the environmental impacts of our operations and we are therefore constantly looking for ways to minimise them. The environment is very important to us, and our clients, and the fact that our commitment and efforts have been recognised by the ISO 14001:2015 accreditation is proof of that.
Our recent and ongoing initiatives range from looking at ways to reduce the use of resources (like digitising our operations and finance processes to minimise paper use) to finding innovative ways to reduce mileage on our clients’ consignments. Most recently, our Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project allowed us to develop a brand new tool to identify ways to combine loads and shipments – helping us to reduce our carbon emissions by an average of 2.2 tonnes of CO2 a week. This is just one example of the ways in which we are influencing our indirect impact on the environment.
Looking after our clients
ISO 9001:2015 recognises our commitment to ensuring our services maintain an extremely high standard of quality management that continue to meet our clients’ needs.
To achieve the updated ISO 9001 accreditation, we successfully demonstrated a strong customer focus and company-wide approach to continuous improvement. Our teams have been structured and trained to work together to deliver with speed and accuracy, and we’ve invested in our dedicated, reliable and high-trained experts that work across all departments. Coupled with the use of our sophisticated, bespoke transportation management system (TMS) and 24/7 multilingual logistics experts, our teams ensure a consistent high level of service excellence is met.
Operating to the ISO 9001 standard demonstrates our commitment to providing quality services, allowing us to build secure business relationships within the supply chain.
For companies focused on quality and the environment, properly approved ISO accreditations are becoming essential requirements. We are pleased that the accreditations we hold set us apart from our competitors when dealing with our clients’ time-critical logistics requirements. Passing the rigorous audits from LRQA gives our clients increased confidence that they are working with a logistics partner who operates to the highest level and has processes in place to limit risk.
Whilst these standards are not industry-specific, they are becoming mandatory requirements for working with like-minded, reputable clients around the globe, especially when dealing with time-sensitive situations. Each of the international standards we have achieved demonstrates the high-level capabilities of our multilingual teams and company-wide ethos.
All our control centres already adhere to the higher standard of ISO accreditation and will ultimately attain their individual awards in recognition of the high-quality procedures that we have embraced and developed.
By adopting and, most importantly, maintaining these standards across the whole company, we will achieve unmatched levels of service excellence across our locations and certification to the ISO standards gives our clients even more confidence in our ability to deliver.
